My friend and I live in the same style place.
When I went in last month.I bought all energy saver set alight bulbs (20 watts each), I have 9 of them.
I generally never have a set alight on unless I need it on.
I leave the air conditioning off until I get home from work. I turn it on along with my ceiling fan upstairs and my 2 stand up fans downstairs. My place is cool in 20 minutes. I’ll leave the fans on if I mind TV downstairs and I sleep with my ceiling fan on all night.
I mind my 53" rear projection TV for about 14 hours a week.
I’m also on my computer for about 14 hours a week. I have a widescreen LCD.
I feel like my hot water heater, refrigerator, huge screen are my primary electricity costs.
I was really pleased with my first month’s thrilling bill. Only .02 compared to my friends whose was over .00.
Am I right that the 3 things I mentioned use the most electricity?
How much is it to run the refrigerator a month? water heater? huge screen TV?computer?lights?

anything with elements use a lot of power such as thrilling hot water logic, oven and hotplates, driers, heaters, kettle. Also, the A/C will use a lot.
First you are close your dryer is the number one source of elec. consumption ,next your water heater .your refrigarator shouldnt use alot unless you keep the door open and as far as your tv and computer they are not huge consumers except a turn on .and oh yes you a/c try to live without these bits and pieces can go your bill over the top use very sparingly if at all. and check with you local power co they may offer rebates on dryers and refrigarators if you upgrade to new.they may also offer a substantial savings to place you on a base line program.this program lets them shut off power to your home in high treatment times it hardly ever happens but if your accepted they cut your bill in half all the time.
Your fans are what are costing you. You need to set the air conditioning to where it can kick in once in a while. Energy treatment to cool a house down quick costs more that maintaining an even temp.
Then you kick in the fans. I promise you that is a biggie.
Go around your house and hold your hand slightly away from windows and doors. If you feel a bit of a breeze there are things that you can do.
The water heater in most homes can be twisted down a tad.
