energy saving tips

There are three possible modes of heat transfer from a housing structure: conduction, convection and radiation. Thermal insulation refers to installation of materials that reduce the exchange of heat. Insulation blocks the heat transfer by conduction. In other terms, it helps in keeping the insides of a warm structure warm, and vice versa.

The maintenance of conditioned temperature by Efficiency insulation allows smallest and optimal use of heating and cooling devices. The obvious outcome of this reduction in consumption is reduced utility bills. Moreover, efficiency insulation also decelerates the consumption of natural resources. Not only this, the emanation of carbon dioxide (released from the consumption of fuel) is considerably reduced as well due to adequate insulation.

The mode and material of insulation is dependent on the specific requirement of the users. R-value is the most noteworthy consideration that must be made before choosing any insulation. The R-value is austerely a measure of the insulating capabilities of a particular material.

Fiberglass insulation is one of the most widely used home improvement solutions today. This material helps in restricting both, the heat as well sound transfer. This material can insulate ceilings, floors, parapet, air ducts and automobiles among others.

Compared to other insulation types, fiberglass insulation presents a number of repayment. The R-value of this material is high and it therefore offers excellent insulation. Fiberglass insulation with batts and rolls provides for a significantly high R- value. But, with loose-fill fiberglass insulation, the
R- value does not have a fixed upper limit and depends on the amount of material used.

Since the insulation does not deteriorate with time, it does not give way to organic growth either. This efficiency insulation, thus, offers a constant and a persistent performance.

The trapped moisture in certain areas like the attic, also has a detrimental effect on the R- value of insulation material. Attic insulation must be done by by a water-proof material. Therefore, fiberglass is an ideal choice for attic insulation since the material does not get wet. Fiberglass insulation does not retain water and gets dry straightforwardly as well. Consequentially, it does not support any kind of organic growth either, thereby eliminating the occurrence of any health hazard.

Another advantage that fiberglass insulation enjoys over other insulation types is fire safety. The insulation has sand and schooner, a combination that is non- combustible. As a result, no additional treatment is required to make this insulation material fire- retardant.

Fiberglass insulation is more effectual than a number of other insulation material. With so many useful properties, the extensive use of this material is more than justified.
